DESCRIPTION:15th June 2026\n \nFunding approved for refurbishment of Papplewick QEII Playground behind the Village Hall on Linby Lane in Papplewick, Nottingham \nChildren and residents in Papplewick are set to get a new improved playground thanks to a £100,000 grant from FCC Communities Foundation.\nThe money will be used to design and redevelop the play facilities on the QEII playing field which has been a much loved facility in the heart of Papplewick used by local families over many years. Exciting new equipment is to come including something for the whole family from pre-school age to teenagers.\nCarolyn Hesketh, Chair of Papplewick Parish Council, believes the facility will make a huge difference to the lives of people living in the area. We believe that with this project we will be able to give our local residents and children a new playground that they can be proud of, and, with increased usage breathe new life and community spirit into the heart of the village for many years to come.\nShe says “This project will provide a real boost to the people and families of Papplewick. It is fantastic that the FCC Communities Foundation has awarded us the money and we’re really looking forward to our new playground taking shape over the coming months”.\nFCC Communities Foundation is a not-for-profit business that awards grants for community projects through the Landfill Communities Fund.\nCheryl Raynor, Grant Manager at FCC Communities Foundation, said:\n“We’re delighted to support the refurbishment of the QEII Playground in Papplewick through the Landfill Communities Fund.
