Farming and land-use in Papplewick

Most of the land in Papplewick parish is farmland. The farms in the area are all affected by the same physical factors so there is not a lot of variation in land-use across the parish. Most of the farmland is used for growing crops (arable).  The light sandy soils in the east of the parish are suited to root crops.
