Millennium Celebrations
The village celebrated the new millennium on Saturday 15th July 2000. Main Street was closed to traffic, and people from all over the parish gathered for tea in the street. A local traction engine was on display. A millennium cake had been prepared and at 4.00pm this was cut by the Chairman of the Parish Council, Councillor Ian Griffiths. Live music and a fire-eater entertained the revelers. A good time was had by all. Click on the thumbnails below, if you wish to see a larger version of the photograph.
In the evening a joint barn dance was held with the village of Linby, in the barn at Linby Hall Farm.
